Meditation Teacher/Practice Manager

My journey as the Practice Manager began in 2007 when my husband and I opened the doors to our first clinic in Canberra. Seventeen years later, I continue to manage Alive Physio & Wellness while also embracing the role of a mom to my two amazing kids, Rhiannon and Declan. Before delving into the realm of our clinic, armed with a degree in Business Management, I worked as an HR/Industrial Relations Officer in the APS (Australian Public Service) and several private organisations.

Meditation has been a constant companion throughout my life, a gift from my family and the cultural roots of being born in a Buddhist country. In my early days, meditation was a sporadic part of my student life, offering occasional glimpses of its benefits. However, it wasn’t until 2013, during our move from Canberra to Melbourne, that I truly grasped its significance. Faced with the challenges of losing parts of my material world, professional identity, and the stable life I had built in Canberra, meditation became my refuge from stress and anxiety. It was during this period of questioning everything about my life, including my very existence, that I found solace in meditation, discovering a deeper connection with myself. Returning to Melbourne became more than just a change of location; it became an inner journey of self-exploration, realizing that the answers to life’s challenges lay within me, not in external circumstances or others.

No longer merely navigating through life, I discovered a profound purpose—to share my insights, wisdom, and the transformative power of meditation with others. In 2020, I decided to formalize my experience and knowledge by completing the Certificate in Guiding and Teaching Meditation and Mindfulness through the Australian Centre for Meditation and Mindfulness.

My Approach

With a background in business, I bring a unique blend of business management and meditation expertise, understanding firsthand the demands and challenges faced by business owners. The journey of running a business can be demanding, often requiring more than we think we have to give. Many business owners, especially those in small enterprises, often feel isolated and grapple with overwhelming thoughts. This is where a regular meditation practice has proven invaluable in navigating the daily stresses of entrepreneurship.

While meditation and mindfulness have been around for decades, their benefits are supported by ample research and evidence. In today’s fast-paced world, finding calm and peace within ourselves is crucial for reducing stress and overwhelm. My goal is simple: to make meditation a seamless part of everyone’s daily routine, regardless of their lifestyle or time constraints.
